Irwin zoo eyes US expansion

Australia Zoo on Queensland's Sunshine Coast has confirmed its plans to open a zoo in the United States. The zoo, which was home to 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin, has issued a statement saying it is considering a number of options and locations for the zoo, including Las Vegas. Australia Zoo director Wes Mannion says a US zoo would educate millions of people about the importance of conservation and wildlife protection, as well as generate money for wildlife projects around the world.
