Marina State Beach will reopen today, one week after a shark seriously wounded a surfer in the waters off the beach, a California State Parks official said this morning. The beach is located approximately 10 miles north of Monterey. Surfer Todd Endris, 24, was seriously wounded on Aug. 28 after being attacked by what shark experts speculate was an adolescent great white shark. Endris was later flown to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment.`We are reopening the beach today," state parks sector superintendent Dana Jones said. `We have not had any confirmed shark sightings or any marine mammal kills," since the attack on Endris.Warning signs about the possibility of sharks in the area will remain posted at the beach, according to Jones.
